Today is a day with no major obligations. I have the house to myself and most of the busy chores are accomplished. A thread of uncertainty mingles with a calm excitement as I learn to discover who I am without the pressures of a busy pre-written schedule. Slow, deliberate movements. Thoughtful creating, these are my goals this year. Having the time to take in how sunlight fills each room at different times of the day. Taking a moment to meditate on how truly grateful I am.

A constant source of excitement for me is to find new ways to make my spaces pop without spending a ton of money. I bought these drapes from West Elm to hang on the columns at Lily's to give the small room, which is now my office, a bit of privacy when desired. They make such a difference! A wonderful hit of modern style with a small investment in both time and money. Many who saw them this weekend were equally inspired, so I thought I'd share with you how they look.
And of course, I'm starting to get really excited about the Super Bowl game.
